2021 - Spring Art Exhibition - Workshops and Lectures
"Hear it! See it! Write it!" - lead by Cindy Snow
Poetry Workshop - Wednesday, May 19th, 2021 - Starting at 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Workshop fee $5.
Oh, how a work of art can launch vivid writing! In this workshop, we’ll hear examples of ekphrastic poetry, poetry that brings art to life in words. And we’ll write, using pieces in the Monson Art Council’s exhibition, The Colors of Change, as inspiration. The presenter will provide samples of ekphrastic poetry and prompts, and you’ll provide energy, creativity, and openness. All levels of experience welcome!
Cindy Snow's writing has appeared in the Massachusetts Review, Peace Review, Worcester Review, Crannóg and elsewhere. Her poetry has been nominated for a Pushcart and has earned honorable mention in a variety of contests. In 2016, Slate Roof press published Cindy's chapbook, Small Ceremonies won the Poet's Seat Poetry Contest and presented her poetry on Maria Sibylla Merian at a symposium honoring the naturalist in Amsterdam. Cindy holds an MFA in Poetry from Drew University, works at GCC, and lives in Shelburne Falls with her family.
