Coffee House Unplugged
to Benefit Friends of the Monson Free Library
The annual Coffee House Unplugged sponsored by the Monson Arts Council and Friends of the Monson Free Library will be held on Friday, April 5, at the Monson Free Library, 2 High Street, Monson, at 7 P.M.
Each year the Council and Friends invites local performers, including writers of prose and poetry, dramatists, and musicians to share in an evening celebrating local talent to benefit the Friends of the Monson Free Library, all in a casual setting. Light refreshments and beverages, including coffee and tea, will be served. Seating is limited, so come early and enjoy the ambiance. Donations of $10.00 will be accepted at the door.
Carol Mays will read poems from one of her books “A Collection of Uplifting Poems”; the Monson Monday poets Maureen Solomon and Gay Paluch will share poetry from their group; Steven Riel, author of “Fellow Odd Fellow” and three other chapbooks will read two new short poems; Barbara Shaffer and Sandy Courtney will read from their original nonfiction pieces; Patrick Duquette has chosen to read three original poems. Musicians include KenLeCours sharing special John Denver music, Davis Johnson and Peter Barnett, guitarists and vocalists; Peter Adzima, singer and songwriter in the genre of folk music who will perform songs from his two cd’s, Linda Day Newman, violinist, performing a classical piece, and Alison Weber playing a piano solo
