"MAC" the Dragon Dedicated

On Sunday, September 22 2019, a dedication ceremony was held for the Arts Council's new mascot, "MAC" the Dragon, now fully installed in his permanent place in front of the House of Art in Monson.

The celebration coincided with the final day of the MAC's pop-up art show "Blue".  It was a gorgeous early fall day for the ceremony, which was held in front of the House of Art in the presence of "MAC", all bedecked in ribbons.

MAC President Peter Barnett, gave the dedication address.  He used the opportunity to celebrate three things:  Peter Mayberry, the sculptor, and his fabulous creation; The Arts Council and the House of Art, secure behind the watchful eyes of "MAC", and the people and businesses of Monson, whose outpouring of support made the purchase possible.

Senator Anne Gobi also spoke, and presented a plaque to Peter Mayberry memorializing his creation.  She then joined Peter in cutting the ribbon which surrounded "MAC", and concluding the ceremony.
